I am sure there is someone who would pay some money for it because it has historc significance. I am however not sure if you will not get into trouble for having such a thing (not sure if taking it from the rumble was not stealing).

Hey guys, just a quick (and nervous) question here. Some background detail: my dresser has a slate of frosted glass attached to the top, and recently, it came loose. I glued it back to the top with E6000 bonding glue about 10 minutes ago, but now I can see where I put the glue through the glass (the streams of glue are making the glass clear at those areas).

My question: will this still show up after the glue dries?

I think it will, because you have now filled the porous area where you have put the glue. I hope I am wrong!!! good luck

Just a few questions:

Slate Tile: Those of you that use it, do you put something between the slate and the glass? Or should I just leave the slate by itself if I have a Digital Thermostat where I could set the right temp without the slate getting to hot?

Heating Pad: I’ve heard bits and pieces of info, that a heating pad will burn your wood stand. Is that true? If so what can I do to avoid this problem?

I have about 1/2 inch of sand between the tiles and the tanks glass. I also fill the gaps between the tiles with sand.

I have 3 of my 4 tanks (one is empty) on wooden surfaces. They don’t seem to be causing and damage to the wood. If you are worried about it you can mount the under tank heater on the side of the tank though it is not the best as leopard geckos use belly heat.

i know light will refract through a slate of glass but will it also refract through a Plano concave lens if the light is directed toward the concave side and comes out of the Plano(flat) side. thank you for any answers.

The whole idea of lenses is that they refract light in a particular way.
Telescopes using lenses to form the primary image are called refracting telescopes. or refractors.
Telescopes using curved mirrors to form the primary image are called reflecting telescopes, or reflectors.
http://www.astronomytoday.com/astronomy/telescopes.html . . .
The refractive power of a lens is given by the Basic Lens Makers Formula
http://scienceworld.wolfram.com/physics/LensMakersFormula.html . . . .
http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/geoopt/lenmak.html . . . .
The refractive index varies with the wavelength of the light so red and blue light come to a different focus, a condition called chromatic abberation.
http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/geoopt/aber2.html . . . .
The relationship between the focal length of a lens and the object and image distances is given by the Basic Lens Equation
1 / focal length = 1 / object distance + 1 / image distance
1 / f = 1/ u + 1 / v
Here is a sample calculation based on the formula
