don't do it. the best option is two part epoxy. second best is a light scuff sanding, an alcohol primer and an oil base floor paint. ultimate advice.... just leave it unless the paint job is temporary
References :
If you paint marble, you will eventually regret it. I would highly advise covering the table with a pretty white tablecloth (antique lace would be beautiful, or natural linen could look crisp and modern) so that you don't ruin the marble for posterity. Who knows? You may eventually develop a liking towards the color. Even if you don't, it's not worth the risk of ruining the marble. Sell it and get a table that is more suited to your tastes if that's what it comes down to.
References :
You might try using an 'Epoxy' paint...mixture of 2 liquids...one the base paint and the other is a hardener. Make sure table top is clean...also sand it off to take the smooth finish off so paint will stick better.

You may not have to use all of the paint....so don't mix everything in the cans at one time. When you mix it al...you have to use it all within a short time period...because it will set up hard even in closed can.
