The new Atheism a critical appraisal of: Dawkins, Dennet, Wolpert, Harris and Stenger, written by Roy Abraham Varghese, inside the book (in appendix A): There is a God: how the worlds most notorious atheist changed his mind. Written by Antony Flew
5 phenomena:
1° The rationality implicit in all our experience of the physical world (yeah, like the one people with schizophrenia have!)
2° Life: the capacity to act autonomously (like someone in coma!)
3° Consciousness: the ability to be aware
4° Conceptual thought: the power of articulating and understanding meaningful symbols such as are embedded in language
5° The human self: the center of consciousness and thought. (But wait a minute, my dog is able to understand what I say, he reacts to it in accordance, he also has his own will, because he gets crazy for few things which show me that he knows what he wants, and he also has fear or love that he expresses also if not in the same way of another human being, but in a way a dog can. So where is the Dog God?)
3 things should be said about these phenomena and the application of the existence of God.
1° We are accustomed to hear arguments for proof of Gods existence. (But luckily he/she/it never cares to show how dumb atheists are, showing at least a couple of times a year! Yeah, thousand of gods in the past, and not 1 came to earth to shatter atheists and show how stupid they are!)
2° We are not talking about probabilities and hypothesis, but about encounters with fundamental realities
God existence is presupposed by all phenomena.
3° Atheists new and old have complained that there is no evidence for Gods existence, and some theists have argued that free will can exist only if such evidence is not coercive.
In my opinion this author marble table example is wrong, because if from an incandescent piece of sun (the earth) on which there was nothing, came out all the animals we know, plus humans, then his thought experiment about the marble table, having 4-5 billion years could become a conscious being, like humans, since we have already the proof, from the earth which was incandescence conscious beings came out.
