The U.S. imports a significant amount of travertine and marble from Turkey, two of Turkey’s most popular stones. In 2006, the U.S. imported $275 million worth of travertine and $101 million in marble, up from $230 million and $81 million, respectively, in 2005 (an increase of approximately 20% for each stone)
